The RWTH Aachen spin-off Cylib has received 3.6 million euros from investors to make battery recycling more efficient and environmentally friendly

Aachen Rothe Erde, Alsdorf or perhaps the Eifel? These are three options currently on the table for the newly founded company Cylib from Aachen – “Cy” is derived from “recycling” and “lib” stands for lithium-ion battery. And that is precisely what the start-up is about: the recycling of so-called traction batteries. In other words, batteries used in cars, e-bikes or e-scooters.
